Granger Construction and Integrated Design Solutions/IBI Group Michigan completed this Design-Build Enterprise Data Center project for a confidential Automotive Corporation client in July 2018.
Using program criteria, the Design-Build team generated a shovel-ready design in 12 weeks while managing project decisions with multiple layers of corporate stakeholders. The team demonstrated high attention to and understanding of temperature, humidity and power systems requirements.
This was a multi-phase project. Phase 1 included a a 200,000 SF building and site improvements, with the following key features:
- (6) 2.5MW Emergency Generators
- (2) Primary Switchgear line ups
- (8) 3750 KVA Substations
- (4) 670 Ton Chillers
- (4) 808 Ton Cooling Towers
- (40) CRAH Units
Phase 2 involved construction of two (2) 10,000 SF data halls, built out to support 2MW of computing power and cooling.
Phases 3 and 4 increased the computing power form 2MW to 4MW in two existing data halls.
This project was completed with attention to client sustainability goals, and received LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
