After nearly 10 months of construction, one of the newest additions to the campus of Lansing Community College is complete and ready for use.
A state-of-the-art conference center, located on the first floor of the Gannon Building, was recently completed by Granger Construction. The conference center includes two conference rooms — the larger Michigan Room, with a capacity of 150, and the Grand River Room, able to accommodate 50 people. Each room is equipped with the latest A/V technology and design.
Granger began working on the Gannon Building renovations in late December 2016, which consisted of fitting out an empty 7,000 sq. ft. of space. Granger recently completed the Conference Center part of the project, consisting of the kitchen, the smaller Grand River conference room, a lobby/pre-function space with terrazzo flooring and a glass wall with the glass door entrance (illuminated by 13 acrylic wall panels, four of which are cut out in the shape of Michigan) and the main Michigan conference room (with two 15 foot LED monitor walls at the front and high-end architectural finishes throughout). The project was completed in time for LCC to host their first event on February 20.
