Michigan State University engaged Granger Construction and TMP Architecture as design-build partners for construction of a new Spartan Greens turf complex. This was the first of a series of investments made by the university into upgrades for MSU’s Recreation and Intramural Sports facilities.
- This project, centered on student success, offered facilities to encourage social engagement and promote well-being for the MSU community.
- It included a new, 7-acre outdoor recreational complex, featuring two full-size, multi-purpose artificial turf fields dedicated to a variety of recreation sports, including lacrosse, rugby, soccer, flag football, ultimate frisbee, softball and baseball.
- Both fields were construction with full lighting systems, as well as two support buildings with storage, office space, first aid and training as well as restrooms, all connected by a canopy to provide weather protection.
- This project also involved removal of an abandoned geothermal field.
