January 9, 2025 | With an eye toward Granger Construction’s growth and succession, CEO Glenn Granger is proud to announce the promotion of three exceptional leaders – Chris Duprey, Rob Train and Tim VanAntwerp – to the role of Executive Vice President.
“These individuals have been instrumental in shaping Granger Construction into the thriving company it is today,” said Glenn Granger. “Their leadership, dedication and expertise are vital as we look toward the future.”
Chris Duprey (EVP, CFO) joined Granger as Controller in July of 2013 after working as a Tax Manager within the construction industry. By January of 2016, Chris was promoted to Director of Finance, and in March of 2019, he assumed the executive leadership role of Chief Financial Officer. With his new promotion to EVP / CFO, Chris will continue to provide overall financial oversight for Granger Constriction, as well as manage banking, surety and risk management relationships. Chris has registered status as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Michigan and has earned his designation as a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP). Chris holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Michigan and a Master’s in Professional Accountancy from Walsh College.
Rob Train (EVP, Operations) has worked in the construction industry since 1995 and joined Granger in 2001 as an Estimator and Project Manager. Over the years, he has held successive key roles within the organization, including Senior Project Manager, Regional Director and Director of Preconstruction Services. In 2015, Rob took on leadership of the Correctional Facilities market and played a pivotal role in establishing a regional office in Columbus, OH in 2017. His strategic vision and leadership were further recognized when he was appointed Vice President of Operations in 2019. Beyond his professional achievements, Rob is deeply committed to his community and has served as a Councilman and President for the Village of Sheridan, MI and is presently a member of the Central Montcalm Public Schools Board of Education. Rob also holds certification as a LEED Green Associate and has been an active member of the American Society of Professional Estimators for many years. Rob holds a Bachelor’s in Construction Management from Michigan State University.
Tim VanAntwerp (EVP, Business Development) joined Granger in 2000 and currently leads Granger’s Business Development team, while also supporting Risk Management and Higher Education project delivery. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from MSU, and a Juris Doctor from Wayne State. Tim is a licensed engineer and licensed attorney and over the last 25 years has worn every hat in construction operations and passionately contributed to meaningful projects across Michigan.
Collectively, these three newly appointed EVPs have served almost 60 years of service at Granger Construction. Over the past decade, this team’s leadership has driven the company to record growth and expanded Granger’s reach into new markets, ensuring a strong foundation for the years ahead.
With these promotions, Dennis Carignan will continue to provide strong leadership as Granger Construction’s President, while Alton Granger remains a cornerstone of the company as Chairman and Chief Morale Officer.
