National Safety Stand-Down Week is May 8-12. This week, employers are encouraged to hold a stand-down by taking a break to talk to workers about fall hazards and fall protection. More than one-third of deaths in the construction industry are due to falls. As the National Occupational Safety and Health Administration points out, these deaths are preventable.
