Granger Construction recently put the finishing touches on a renovation of the MSU Foundation building on Collins Road in East Lansing.
The 65,000 square-foot, full-scale renovation included a complete redesign of the interior spaces to accommodate an open office floorplan throughout the three floors. Features included new training rooms on each floor, 53 new offices — private, shared and soundproof — eight conference rooms, men’s and women’s locker rooms on the lower level with a fitness center, and a kitchen with breakroom. The project also included a new vestibule and atrium with a 3rd floor glass rail balcony and exterior steel archway.
A new Variable Refrigerant Flow system was installed with new building controls, as well as new electrical, fire alarm and renovations to the existing sprinkler system. Plumbing fixtures and partitions were also replaced.
Exterior work included removal and replacement of roof, roof cap and siding, new windows and installation of metal wall panels over the existing exterior finish, various asphalt, concrete and slab replacements, new drain tile and grading, and new retaining walls.
Established in 1973 as an independent non-profit corporation, the MSU Foundation serves as a flexible and ongoing resource, responsive to the University’s strategic needs.
