Granger Construction’s healthcare team recently completed extensive renovations to Sparrow Hospital’s 5 Foster Pediatric Unit in Lansing, Michigan. The $2.6 million project involved removing all architectural finishes down to studs and making improvements to existing utilities.
Timely completion was one of the primary goals of the project, which began in August 2016, in order to minimize disruption and displacement of patients. Utilizing Lean construction practices, Granger was not only able to accommodate the project’s aggressive timeline, but complete the project a full three weeks ahead of schedule.
“Because of the nature of the project, we wanted to do whatever we could to get it completed and ready for use as quickly as possible,” said Project Manager Mike Kissane. “It has been extremely gratifying for us to play a small part in helping Sparrow and their efforts to care for and treat children.”
