Dexter Community Schools has selected Granger to perform work for four bond programs, the most recent being their 2017 bond.
2017 Bond
The largest feature of the 2017 bond program involved construction of a new $23.4 million elementary school to accommodate growth in enrollment. The new 80,000 SF building mirrors the existing Cornerstone Elementary School that it is connected to, allowing the two schools to share certain spaces, such as the bus drop-off area and the kitchen, to create efficiencies.
Additional district-wide improvements include:
- Cornerstone Elementary: new flexible learning space and exterior handicap-accessible bathrooms
- Wylie Elementary: updates to office space, bathrooms, locker rooms and pool equipment room
- Mill Creek Middle School: new music room and flexible learning space; updates to special education area, locker rooms and bathrooms
- Dexter High School: new flexible learning space, updates to bathrooms, locker rooms, pool equipment rooms and the Center for Performing Arts along with two new multi-use athletic fields with artificial turf
- Dexter Alternative Education: classroom renovations
- Copeland Administration Building: Senior Center renovations
- Miscellaneous: technology and transportation equipment and upgrades; roof replacement at various district office buildings
