Granger is providing pre-construction, estimating, design review, BIM management and construction services for the new Jackson YMCA facility in downtown Jackson.

The team will be working on an occupied site and partnering with Henry Ford Health System to provide rehabilitation health services within the building.

The new facility, which will involve a combination of new construction and renovations to the existing facility, will feature natural lighting to make the facility brighter, a new kids area by doubling the current climbing wall, a new play space and an outdoor play structure.

Plans call for adding a third floor to the existing building, which will greatly increase accessibility to the indoor track.

The project will also provide a universal locker room, a youth STEM (science, technology, engineering arts and math) lab, licensed childcare as well as an enhanced aquatics center with updated equipment and improved accessibility.

The project will begin with demolition of two external properties in their existing parking lot create additional space for parking.
