Zac ElkinsAt Granger Construction, we pride ourselves on the quality of our work and the strength of our team. One individual who has consistently exemplified both is Zac Elkins, a trusted Project Superintendent who celebrates 30 years with Granger as of 2025.

In an industry that often demands high visibility, Zac has quietly and effectively become one of Granger’s most invaluable assets. Known for his no-nonsense approach and ability to get things done, he is often the quiet leader behind the scenes, delivering successful projects one after the other.

Zac’s remarkable skillset and unwavering work ethic have earned him a loyal following among Granger’s clients, with some like Ferris State University requesting him by name for their projects. Zac’s reputation speaks for itself. He is a problem-solver who navigates complex challenges with ease, ensuring that every project runs smoothly from start to finish.

As expressed by Ferris State University Associate Vice President Joe Haupt, “Zac’s deep knowledge of Ferris State University’s policies, procedures, campus standards and personnel enables him to troubleshoot issues before they escalate, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget. His meticulous attention to detail and commitment to exceptional customer service have endeared him to students, faculty and staff alike. It’s rare to find someone as dedicated and skilled as Zac. Ferris State University is incredibly fortunate to have him on our campus, and it’s an honor to call him a BULLDOG.”

But it is not just clients who appreciate Zac. He has also earned the respect of the tradespeople he works alongside. The contractors he manages follow his lead because he speaks their language and runs an effective jobsite. He is fair but demanding when it comes to maintaining schedules and achieving the highest quality standards. His ability to strike that balance—holding teams accountable while ensuring fairness—has created a positive, collaborative work environment that drives everyone to perform at their best.

Over the years, Zac has played a pivotal role in bringing to life some of Granger’s most successful projects, always delivering results that exceed expectations. Some of those include award-winning projects like the Detroit Arsenal Administration Building, Centurion Corporate Headquarters, Gun Lake Tribal Government Complex and Michigan Tech’s Great Lakes Research Center. That is in addition to the recent Eaton County Youth Facility Expansion and several projects for Ferris State University including the North Residence Hall, Swan Annex, Center for Athletic Performance, Early Learning Center and currently the new Housing and Indoor Athletic Center project just getting underway.

“Zac’s quiet leadership is a cornerstone of our success, and we are grateful to have him as part of the Granger team,” said Granger President Dennis Carignan. “As he nears this incredible milestone of 30 years, we would like to thank Zac for his dedication, professionalism and commitment to excellence.”
